Munson Earth Moving and Phelps Engineering notified us today that construction of Phase 1 on the SAFD2 water system, running from the Village to the golf course is complete!
We received notice this afternoon from Munson Earth Moving, our construction contractor, that the entire system has passed the bacteriological testing and is now officially ready for service to everyone! For those of you who have signed up for service, here is some information about what you need to do to connect.
Another major step towards beginning operations and water flowing to customers happened today. The State issued our permit to operate, which means we have been authorized to open for business once people are connected.
The Notice of Ordinance Adoption has been posted as required in various places around the municipality, in The Islander and on this website. The Certification of that posting is available below.
In September 2012, SAFD2 and the Village signed an Interlocal Agreement which authorized SAFD2 to purchase its water from the Village. Because SAFD2 is close to making water available to its customers, the Village Trustees and SAFD2 met on May 12, 2014 to flesh out the details of the financial and operating arrangement. On June 2, 2014 they jointly reviewed the resulting Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with both entities approving signature by their Chair once final comments were incorporated. The MOU was signed on June 10, 2014 and is posted below, along with the 2012 Interlocal Agreement.
SAFD2 held its Annual Meeting on 6/9/14. At that time the Agenda, Chairman's Report, Treasurer's Report and 2014-2015 General Fund Budget were presented (documents below). The budget was adopted. Other business was carried out according to the agenda and will be detailed in minutes to be posted on this website once approved by the Prudential Committee.
At a SAFD2 Special Meeting held on 6/9/14 the Prudential Committee adopted an "Ordinance Relating to the Management, Operation and Protection of the South Alburgh Fire District No. 2 Public Water Supply System". The signed Notice of Ordinance Adoption and Ordinance documents are posted below for public review.
